Peridot

The Basics
This gem is a lush green with hues that range from yellowish to brownish green, but yellowish green is most common. While nearly all peridot is formed deep inside the earth and brought to the surface by volcanoes, an incredibly rare extraterrestrial peridot came to Earth in meteorites.

Associated with light, peridot has been revered for its beauty and perceived mythical powers.

Meaning
Peridot has associations with strength and confidence. It is also believed to help conquer fears and ward off bad thoughts and dreams.

Cleaning
Peridot should be cleaned gently with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Peridot should never be cleaned with steam or in an ultrasonic cleaner.
