What is an Ideal-Cut Diamond?
In 1919, Marcel Tolkowsky, a Belgian-born gemologist and mathematician, was preparing his doctoral thesis. His subject was the calculation of the precise proportions of a diamond's cut in order to absolutely maximize the diamond's brilliance and dispersion of light. He realized a cut and polished diamond is really a series of prisms and mirrors, and the way light is reflected within the diamond determines its beauty. If a diamond is cut too deep or too shallow, too much light escapes through its bottom and sides, resulting in lost fire, sparkle and brilliance from the top. After extensive study and calculations, Tolkowsky had his answer. It is from his work that the ideal-cut grade was born. "Ideal" is not just an adjective... it has become the industry standard for the set of proportions, ratios, and angles known as the American Ideal Cut.
What Makes The PEERLESS diamond® the ideal ideal-cut diamond®?
The proof of this diamond's superiority is contained in the two independent gemological reports that accompany every PEERLESS diamond®.
What Makes The PEERLESS diamond®
the
ideal ideal-cut diamond®?
The proof of this diamond's superiority is contained in the two independent gemological reports that accompany every PEERLESS diamond®.
The first is from the American Gem Society (AGS™). Their Diamond Quality™ document is a fastidiously prepared report card of the PEERLESS diamond® 4Cs. You will see that the Cut Grade shows three zeros (highest grade possible) in three primary areas from the AGS Laboratory: light performance, proportion factors and finish (polish and symmetry). "Triple-zero" diamonds like the PEERLESS diamond™ are very uncommon.
The second gemological report is provided by GemEx®. It measures your diamond's return of light and provides you with three critical measurements of the PEERLESS diamond® light performance for how well it performs in return of white light -- what is called "brilliance," its return of color light -- called "fire" -- and its scintillation, called "sparkle." The three grades the PEERLESS diamond® has achieved all fall within the "Very High" range. The GemEx® report confirms what the eye can clearly see...the PEERLESS diamond® truly lives up to its name and is the ideal ideal-cut diamond®.

The Peerless Diamond® has been issued a unique serial number. Gemscribe® allows this unique serial number to be visible under 10x magnification. So, your Peerless Diamond® cannot possibly be mistaken for any other diamond. The serial number on the certificate matches the serial number on your Peerless Diamond®.
